Name: Holly Fish | Business/Profession: Director of Recruiting, Culture & Communications, EGP

Please share a little about your background, personally and/or professionally.

I moved to AR in 2003, joined by current employer, EGP CPAs & Consultants in 2007. As a firm Director, I have created and instilled much of the companies culture, communications and client services with the market as well as marketing, web, social media and more. I am voice and an advocate for the public accounting industry in AR. Since my time in Arkansas, my passions have been female focused. I built one of the largest female in-person networking chapters, WIN, Women in Networking, and currently still a Founding Member of the Arkansas Women’s Hall of Fame.

Please share more about your current position and place of work. How have you grown professionally/personally in this role?

The workplace and workforce has evolved and changed in many levels. My job is make sure our firm, our culture, market footprint, and employee retention, as well as client, evolves as well. I have represented EGP internally and externally for nearly 20 yrs. My role has been front and center, my partners have allowed me much space and grace over the years to grow not only professionally, but personally. This isn’t much we haven’t faced as a leader crew.

What drew you to being a mentor for an entrepreneurial group curated for non-men? How has being a woman or non-binary individual impacted your professional journey?

As a female leader, I noticed early in my career women still must walk a line between too hard, too soft. There is much more that comes with that broad statement, but I pride myself on being able to have crucial and critical conversations no who or what gender is in front me. This took a while to hon, I have made my share of mistakes. Space and Grace. I am glad I had both good and bad members so I know the difference. It is a duty as we as to pass down these experiences.

What are three things you enjoy doing outside of work?

Spending time in nature and exploring, time with family, and expanding on the woman I am and want to be.

What is your go-to piece of advice for professionals, entrepreneurs, or anyone looking to you for guidance?

Are you bringing a bucket of gasoline or water to the situation? Only You are in control of You. That is no one else’s responsibility.

What is a professional achievement that you are most proud of, and why are you proud of it?

Being a Founder of AR Women’s Hall of Fame. What a lesson this has been and it is a shame we haven’t celebrated them until now.
