Name: Gina Flake | Business/Profession: CEO, Owner & Instructor, B & B Safety Training

Please share a little about your background, personally and/or professionally.

I am a go-getter who likes to have a lot of fun. After working for another company, I decided that I could run my own company doing the same training, better and more personable and fun. I enjoy people, and being involved in all aspects of life.

Please share more about your current position and place of work. How have you grown professionally/personally in this role?

I am currently the CEO, owner and instructor of B&B Safety Training. I started this company in 2021, and have doubled my revenue each year, along with growing in sales experience, as well as other aspects of running a business all by myself.

What drew you to being a mentor for an entrepreneurial group curated for non-men? How has being a woman or non-binary individual impacted your professional journey?

I enjoyed the community of being a mentee, and wanted to give back this year. I would have missed being a part of the Venture Center Women Achieve. I have much more to learn and much more to give.

What are three things you enjoy doing outside of work?

Gardening, traveling, and hanging out with my kids/grandkids.

What is your go-to piece of advice for professionals, entrepreneurs, or anyone looking to you for guidance?

Always put your best foot forward, be kind to everyone, and make life fun, you never know when it might end!

What is a professional achievement that you are most proud of, and why are you proud of it?

Starting my own business from the ground up. I had no idea what I was doing, I’m still learning, but I am proud that I took the first step to make it happen.
