Name: Abigail Henthorne | Business: ABBETHORNEARTS LLC

Welcome to our Spark! spotlight series, where we introduce you to the amazing entrepreneurs who are participating in our Spark! 2024 program with a quick Q&A! Spark! is a small business pre-accelerator that puts the right people, opportunities, and access in place for local entrepreneurs in Arkansas to grow their venture to the next level.

Can you tell us a little about yourself and what motivated you to join Spark!?

ABBETHORNEARTS is a textile design studio creating unique, customizable fiber installations inspired from endangered species. I recognized to take my business to the next step I needed mentoring and the Spark Program seemed like the perfect opportunity.

What are your short-term and long-term career goals, and how do you hope this program will help you achieve them?

My short-term goal that I wish to accomplish through Spark is to get my business off the ground and gain traction in the fine art community. Long-term, I want ABBETHORNEARTS to become a self-sufficient recognized art studio. Through the weekly meetings and various guest speakers, I believe the connections made during this program will lead to valuable opportunities that I wouldn’t have been introduced to without Spark!

What is the most valuable piece of business advice you’ve been given?

Thus far, the most valuable business advice I’ve received has been to think through the minds of the consumers. What problems are they facing in their lives and how can your work solve it.

What is a professional achievement that you are most proud of and why?

Receiving the Windgate Accelerator Grant allowed me the funds to experiment with my medium and build my first body of work. With these pieces I was able to grow my CV. And had it featured in several exhibitions both in and outside the country.
