Can you tell us a little about yourself and what motivated you to join the AAPI Achieve mentorship program?

I’m the owner of Boards By T LLC. I started my charcuterie & graze table business in January of 2024 and was looking for guidance and mentorship from experienced leaders since I’m so new in the business industry. I came across AAPI Achieve at the same time, thanks to Josh Nguyen.

What are your short-term and long-term career goals, and how do you hope this mentorship program will help you achieve them?

My long term goal is to grow from a solo entrepreneur to having employees run different areas of my business. My short term goal is to introduce something new to my business every few months, be it in terms of adding new items to the menu or coming up with creative and unique ideas that sets my business apart from my contemporaries. I believe that the experience and knowledge that the mentors of this program have, given their background and years of expertise in their areas will help me immensely in achieving my goals. 

What are some challenges you’ve faced in your professional journey, and how do you think AAPI Achieve can assist you in overcoming them?

The biggest challenge for me so far has been getting my business name out there. I hope that the resources available at the AAPI Achieve program will help me overcome this challenge in time. 

How has your cultural background shaped your professional journey?

I come from a culture that emphasizes and values hard work, complete dedication, and honesty in whatever you do. I know for a fact that integrating these values in my professional journey has not only made me a better businesswoman but also a better human being.

What specific skills or knowledge do you hope to gain from your mentor through this program?

I hope to gain more knowledge about the nitty gritty of the food industry/catering business since my mentor, Peter Nguyen is from the same field. I’m looking forward to working with him closely to form more connections with clients and contemporaries alike.
